    “We allow parking to be too cheap Downtown. And by doing that, people think, “well I can just get in my car, put a buck fifty in the meter and it’ll be fine.” That’s absolutely the wrong approach. We have to encourage people to ride transit and if we have lots of parking lots and it’s very cheap to park there or on the street, they will pick the car every time. In my mind, and this has been my soapbox for a lot of years, we need to encourage parking to be (more expensive) or you’re not going to get the cars off the street.”

    Great quote. I just want to add that “cheap” here doesn’t just mean in $$$. The true cost also incorporated convenience, which supply has a direct influence on. In other words: #NOparkinglot on the Sahara site!
